An engagement session is highly recommend for any couple approaching a wedding.

What is an engagement session? It is a brief shooting session that showcases you as a couple in a location and at a date and time other than the wedding. The session provides professional portraits of you and as a couple before you are married.

The engagement portraits can be romantic, fun, dramatic, whimsical, and often feature important elements of your life together, interests, and future.

For example, a couple who loves to mountain bike together might want photos of themselves showcased in a natural setting with their bicycles, or a couple might want to have a set of photos that feature their dog or a classic car they own, or perhaps to have the session where they met, fell in love, or got engaged.  We can also hold the session indoors at our studio located in historic Ellicott City, Maryland.

The session can be more creative than the wedding setting, and the content can be nearly anything desired. High fashion magazine-style photos, classic styles, retro, fun, unusual, costumes, you-name-it.

The photos are a lasting memory that can add to the excitement and anticipation of your wedding when they are used on a wedding website, shared on social networking sites, or sent to your family and friends as gifts.

A variety of styles and looks can be achieved within the time allotted. We will work with you to arrange a great location and theme. The possibilities are virtually endless.

Typical output from a portrait session is 20-60 images with a variety of looks and themes, with the actual number dependent on, for instance, the number of locations, clothing changes, and other factors.

If the session is completed far enough in advance of the wedding, you can use your wedding photos for “Save The Date” cards, wedding and shower invitations, framed gifts, and on your wedding website. We can also design albums, greeting cards, and other keepsakes that showcase your photos.
